BENNANI Kim
- Morocco - Born : 1972 in Tetouan
Kim Bennani is a painter born in Tetouan in 1972. His childhood took place largely in his father’s studio, and then became heir to the fervor and genius of Moa. Kim joined the School of Fine Arts in Tetouan before flying to Spain to complete his academic career at the School of Applied Arts in Malaga.
The artist wanted to stand out from his father’s work and moved away from the abstraction that characterizes Moa’s works, thus pushing figuration to the extreme and adopting hyper realism. He freed himself from all academicism by experimenting other ways of painting, making his works an invitation to travel to eternal universes, bathed in milky light and infinite horizons.
Since 1999, Kim Bennani exhibits regularly in Moroccan galleries but also in France, Spain and England. Moreover, he was the first Moroccan artist invited to work by the Claude Monet Foundation in Giverny, France.
